Repairing the break wall (SWF)

While spending some time in Petoskey, MI recently, we noticed they were doing some work on the break wall. The weather was perfect while we were in town, giving me a great opportunity to get some nice shots.

Along the pier (I can't decide which I like better, the color or B/W). What do you think?

Hi Heather,
That puffy cloud looks as though it's chasing the barge! I think the B & W photo looks old-timey while the colored one looks contemporary - guess they evoke those moods for me.

I love the color in the first two shots, Heather, but with the boat, it would depend on what you are using it for. They are all very good shots.

The sky and water are so blue. Great captures. I like the BW.

Great photos...I like the vertical hold in your first shot, it adds to the symmetry esp since the line of water is almost in the center ....I love the blues....love that crane in the center...

We're spending the summer across the Bay from Petoskey. Drove by the area today. they have begun to the lighthouse back on the break wall. It certainly is a beautiful area.

Jane - Thanks. Yes, the clouds were just perfect that day!

Clairz - Thank you. Isn't it great when the natural coloring of the sky and water just knock you socks off?

Barb - Thanks for your input. You're right about that cloud coming after the barge!

FWPJ- Thanks for the feedback. The color of that boat is what drew me to it in the first place, so I guess in the long-run I'd go w/the color option.

Gaelyn - Nature's palette was at it's finest that day. Thanks.

Marju - Thank you!

Carol - Thanks for the specific feedback!

B2 - So you're over in Harbor Springs, then? Good to know they are moving right along on that breakwall repair!

Regina - It is a very nice place indeed. Thank you!

Love the blue water against the shining cumulus cloud.

Always nice when the weather is good for photographing, and indeed you got some great shots!

Both the bottom photos are good; the first because of the blue and the last simply because it's lovely :)
