I'm Heather, and I consider myself in the "serious hobbyist" category of photography. My favorite subjects are those found in nature, but I also love taking pictures of animals (especially our dogs) and food. In case you're wondering, I shoot with:
* Nikon D50 DSLR body (discontinued), with 18-55mm kit lens and 55-200mm zoom lens
* +1, +2 and +4 macro filters, polarizing filter, neutral density filter
* Vivitar tripod

That's so gorgeous! Mom's gotta yellow tulip blooming at the farm & I'm gonna experiment w/ it like yours here - That's so cool!
Tricia - Thank you! Here's a tip for you: hold the camera on the ground (or very close to it), aim in the general direction of the flower, and shoot away... without looking through the viewfinder or LCD screen of your camera. You'll get some out-of-focus shots and some shots of the sky, but sometimes you'll get some winners. That's how I got this shot.
Ok that's something I'll definitely try - Sometimes I have to do that because of the glare of the sun anyway, but didn't really mean to. I really love this shot so it gives me more ideas of things to experiment w/. Thanks so much!!!
