These are gorgeous, Heather. They remind me of my horses' eyes. Nothing like big, beautiful, long-lashed animal eyes to pierce the heart straight through!
Your photos are so clear!...I don't think you need criticism, constructive or otherwise. Wonderful photos!!! I bought a nikon d90 and still don't know what I'm doing.
I'm Heather, and I consider myself in the "serious hobbyist" category of photography. My favorite subjects are those found in nature, but I also love taking pictures of animals (especially our dogs) and food. I invite constructive criticism on this blog, so if you have any suggestions about composition, technique, lighting, etc, please let me know in the comments section. I look forward to your feedback.

In case you're wondering, I shoot with: * Nikon D50 DSLR body (discontinued), with 18-55mm kit lens and 55-200mm zoom lens * +1, +2 and +4 macro filters, polarizing filter, neutral density filter * Vivitar tripod

I had guessed the last 2 to be an elephant, til I read they were rhinos! That's funny!
Beautiful images
Karen - Yes, appropriate indeed.
Tricia - I would have probably guessed elephant, too, if I didn't already know the subject matter.

Meg - Thank you. There really is something about the lashes, don't you think?
