I "stylized" these photos in 2 very different ways using Picasa... manipulating the saturation, shadows and highlights, tinting, etc. The first has a kind of "dirty around the edges" quality to me. The second one reminds me of something you would see in a magazine from the 70's or something with the tan/yellowish cast that I added to it.
Please let me know what you think makes these work... or not work! Do you find the images appealing?

I think both styles work. I love the strong colours and angles of the first and I am intrigued with the second; it is so different but I think your treatment works. I like how it is clear/sharp in the bottom of the photo and has the golden light 'disks' on the top. Very different photo styles but both are effective.
I think they both are good. The top one makes me want to go get some..Ha! And I like the blurred effect with the clear on the front of the basket in the bottom one.
