snow and ice storm, January 2009
We have finally had our first taste of snow in southeast Ohio. We had some light accumulation on Saturday, most of which has since melted, and we had some very light flurries today. The snow and ice accumulation which produced the above image kept us stuck at home for several days, as our driveway and the rural roads were impassable for some time. That's okay, though, because when the weather gets that bad, I just want to stay home and play in the snow anyway!

...beautiful, Heather. I remember that snow well. It gave us a little excitement in January and made for great bird photos! I'm looking forward to a bit of the white stuff. We just had a dusting today...
Thanks Kelly. A little excitement, indeed. I was mesmerized by it all. It was a little scary when it all started to melt, though, and the ice daggers started falling from the trees!!!
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Carol
Carol, thank you so much.
Beautiful photo Heather!! Soon you will be getting more like this. It's here!! Winter, that is..
Ginny - Thank you. It sounds like there's some of the white stuff heading your way...
Absolutely beautiful. With our winters becoming warmer & wetter I'm not sure we will see anything like this.
Never mind the snow, and stay at home. You can take a lot of beautiful pictures.
Frank - Thank you. We don't actually get a whole lot of snow in this region of the U.S., but we it seems we are usually treated to 1 or 2 good, beautiful snowfalls each season.
Tabib - My boss may not agree that I should just "stay at home" and take pictures of the snow if am able to come to work (just happens that we were NOT able during this particular storm)!
A lot of this missed us in SE Michigan. I hope to have some of the sticky snow soon. I love the ethereal qualities to this image.
Mark - Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. Multiple manipulations of the image in Picasa contribute to the ethereal quality that you see here.
Plus, you get to take pics to show the rest of us! That's an incredible image - Such a Winter Wonderland
A snow and ice storm has never looked so stunning!
Tricia, Candace - Thank you so much ladies! Happy Holidays to you both!
